私の彼氏はアーティストです。
今日は彼のアートと少しだけ国際恋愛について書こうと思います。

初めに彼のアーティストとしての背景について説明します。

彼はカナダのブリティッシュコロンビア州プリンスジョージで生まれ育ちました。そこで自然の美しさと地域社会の努力家である労働者の精神に囲まれた幼少期を過ごしました。この育ちが、彼の芸術スタイルに深く根ざしています。彼の芸術は自然界と日常生活の基盤を守る人々への繋がりによって深い意味を持っています。

彼の芸術的な才能は非常に多様で、絵画やイラストから彫刻など、さまざまな表現方法を持っています。彼の作品は真摯さと豊かなスピリットに満ちており、彼の価値観や経験に触れた人々だけが持つことができるものです。

年を重ねるにつれて、彼は自身の芸術スタイルが育った田舎の生活や努力家の人々の苦闘と勝利を反映しているアートを創り出すというアイディアにますます惹かれるようになりました。子供の頃に囲まれていた自然の美しさや、過酷で肉体的に過酷な環境で生計を立てるために必死で働く人々の根気と決意からインスピレーションを得ています。

たくさんあるのなかで私のおすすめのアートを３つご紹介させてください！

①グースシリーズ

たまたま彼の友人が持ってきたグースの型紙からインスピレーションを得て何度も改良して自分の思う美しいシェイプに仕上げて作り始めたのがきっかけ。

ここまで没頭したのはグースがカナダのシンボルであること、彼らのパートナーを見つけると生涯を添い遂げる特徴に共感したからです。彼は今のところすでに約70羽作りました。全て違う生地です。良い生地を見つけるたびに今も作り続けています。ちなみに卵も12個あります。10月に開催予定の彼の展覧会のメインはグースシリーズです。

ちなみにバンクーバーには想像以上に野生のカナダグースが道路や公園にたくさんいるのカナダに来た当初とても驚きました。

②Cow(牛)シリーズ

大から小まで計10個あります。私のお気に入りはこの2つ。両方とも152cm×91cmの巨大キャンバスなんです。彼が牛を描き始めた理由は2つあります。1つ目は「母性」の象徴であること。2つ目は彼らは私たち人間に全てを与えてくれているから。私たちはミルクを頂き、そこからチーズを作ることもできます。さらには命まで頂きます。彼らは牧場で働く人々の仕事を助けることまでします。この牛の特徴と母性的な無性の愛に繋がりを感じ、魅了されたそうです。

③フラワーシリーズ

私は前の職場のフローリストで捨てる予定のお花をよく持ち帰らせていただいていました。そのお花たちを使って彼が作ったアートです。お花がごみになるたびに悲しい気持ちになっていたので、彼のアートが完成するたびにとても嬉しかったです。

My Partner Joseph’s Art and International Romance in Vancouver

First, let me explain his background as an artist.

He was born and raised in Prince George, British Columbia, Canada. He spent his early childhood surrounded by the beauty of nature and the spirit of hardworking individuals in the local community. This upbringing deeply influences his artistic style. His art carries a profound meaning through the connection to the foundation of the natural world and the people who protect it in everyday life.

His artistic talent is highly diverse, encompassing various forms of expression such as painting, illustration, and sculpture. His works are filled with sincerity and a rich spirit, something that only people who have experienced his values and experiences can possess.

As he grew older, he became increasingly drawn to the idea of creating art that reflects the struggles and victories of the rural life he grew up in and the hardworking people. He draws inspiration from the beauty of nature that surrounded him as a child and the perseverance and determination of those who work hard in harsh and physically demanding environments.

His family home and his own home are filled with a large number of artworks. He intends to continue creating art until the end of his life. Here is the storage space for his home artworks. There are also many pieces that cannot fit here.

Among the many artworks, let me recommend three of my favorites:

Goose Series

He was inspired by a goose template brought by one of his friends and started creating it, repeatedly refining it to achieve the beautiful shape he envisioned. He became engrossed in it because geese are a symbol of Canada and he resonated with their characteristic of lifelong partnership. He has already made around 70 geese, each made of different fabrics. He continues to make them whenever he finds good materials. By the way, there are also 12 eggs. The Goose Series will be the main focus of his exhibition scheduled for October.

By the way, I was very surprised when I first came to Canada to see that there are a lot of wild Canadian geese on the roads and in parks in Vancouver.

Cow Series

There are a total of 10 cows, ranging from large to small canvases. My favorite ones are these two, which are both on huge canvases 152cm×91cm. He started drawing cows for two reasons: first, they symbolize “maternity,” and second, they provide us with everything. We can have milk from them and even make cheese. Moreover, we receive life from them. They even help farmers with their work. He was fascinated by the characteristics of cows and their maternal, selfless love.

Flower Series

I used to bring home flowers that were going to be discarded from my previous workplace. These are artworks he made using those flowers. I often felt sad when flowers became garbage, so I was very happy every time his art was completed.

International Romance and Men and Women

As an artist, he sometimes says and does things that I couldn’t predict. Moreover, he does it in English, so my brain gets very confused. I often find myself questioning whether I misheard his comments, misunderstood their meaning, or if he really said something like that, perhaps reflecting an aspect of Canadian culture that I’m not familiar with… Yes!!! These moments happen quite frequently. But I think that’s precisely why I never get bored being with him.

He has a way of making my brain very flexible and expanding the range of my thoughts. Meeting him was also a result of my growing interest in studying in Canada, which led me to have a free consultation with a study abroad agent. From there, everything became more realistic, and now I’m here.
