オンラインビジネスを始めた理由

カナダには沢山のスリフトストアがあります。その中でも私達はバンクーバーではなく田舎の方まで行って商材を探し出します。都心の方だとオーガナイズされすぎていてつまらなく、田舎の方が案外掘り出し物が見つかるからです。

バンクーバーに来て改めて東京のファッション感度の高さを感じました。バンクーバーにももちろんお洒落な人もたくさんいるし素敵なお店はあります。でも東京の特に表参道や青山のクオリティは世界レベルです。そこで働いていた自分の経験は非常に価値があるし、生かすべきだと思いました。

新しいことへの挑戦するときのマインド

正直、始めた当初は本当に売れるのかな？在庫抱えるの不安だなといつも思っていました。ただいつもジョセフは「僕たちは他の人にはない素晴らしいセンスや美的感覚を持っている。絶対成功する。」と言います。私が「結構みんなやっているらしいよ」とネガティブな発言をしても「でもその人たちって僕たちじゃないよね？」と言います。

カナダに来てから少し弱気になって自分の可能性を信じれなくなることが多々ありました。でもいつも彼は「やってもないのになんで不安になるの？失敗したらそれも学びだ。」と言います。誰かの失敗談を聞いて心配している私に「でもその人ってAyaじゃないよね？」と必ず返ってきます。

元々は私も同じ思考を持っています。日本にいる時はこの思考と自分のマインドが完全に直結していて行動に移せていました。でもカナダに来てから様々な壁にぶち当たり自信を失い、思考とマインドを繋げづらくなり苦しみました。落ち込んでる時の頭と心と繋げるのって難しいですよね。(そこから這い上がった方法の過去記事はこちら→https://ayakanoikigaidou.com/精神の崩壊時期から這い上がるため4つの行動/)

でも1年5ヶ月たった今、最強ポジティブなジョセフの存在と自分自身でも思考のトレーニングを重ねて、バンクーバーにいても日本にいたときのような心の状態になり始めているように感じます。父によく「地球人になれ」と言われます。きっとどの国にいようがこの心の状態をキープすることができれば「地球人」になれるのだと思います。

“The reasons for starting an online business are as follows.”

We started an online business called VVR (Vintage Vintage Retail) last year with my partner Joseph. The main reason we began this online vintage sales venture was the desire to establish a more financially, physically, and time-wise free lifestyle and to give back to our families, friends, and home country. We wanted to create a business that would provide us with the freedom to live life on our own terms.

In Canada, there are many thrift stores, and we specifically travel to rural areas to find unique items. We found that urban areas are often too organized and lack the excitement of discovering hidden treasures, whereas rural areas often offer unexpected finds.

Additionally, we have participated in a vintage sales event called “Bizarre Bazaar” organized by Kaarina, where we received a surprisingly high number of purchases. Being in Vancouver made me realize the high fashion sensitivity of Tokyo. While Vancouver has fashionable people and nice shops, the quality found in Omotesando and Aoyama, especially in Tokyo, is world-class. I believed that my experience working there held great value and should be utilized.

“Mindset When Taking on New Challenges”

When we initially started, I had doubts about whether our business would succeed and concerns about inventory management. However, Joseph always assured me that we have a unique sense of style and aesthetics that others don’t possess, and he believed in our inevitable success. Even when I mentioned that many others are doing the same thing, he would say, “But they are not us, right?”

Since coming to Canada, I have often become less confident in my own abilities and struggled to connect my thoughts with my mindset. However, Joseph would always say, “Why are you worrying about something that hasn’t happened yet? If we fail, it will be a learning experience.” Whenever I shared someone else’s failure story and was worried, he would respond with, “But that person is not Aya, right?”

Initially, I also had the same mindset. When I was in Japan, my thoughts and mindset were strongly aligned, and I could take action. But after facing various obstacles in Canada and losing confidence, it became difficult for me to connect my thoughts with my mindset, and I experienced a lot of difficulties. It’s challenging to connect your mind and heart when you’re feeling down. (You can find an article on how I overcame this period of mental breakdown here: link)

However, after one year and five months, I feel that with the presence of Joseph, who is extremely positive, and through my own mindset training, I am starting to regain the same mental state I had in Japan, even while in Vancouver. My father often tells me to “be a citizen of the world.” I believe that regardless of which country I am in, if I can maintain this state of mind, I can become a “citizen of the world.”

For those who want to try new challenges but lack the courage or believe it’s impossible for them, nothing will begin unless you take action. Expanding your possibilities and the world around you is up to you alone.
