あの時の小さな行動が大きな挑戦と成長に

本日ブログを開設したお祝いにパートナーのジョセフが近所のおすすめのジェラート屋さんに連れて行ってくれました。

実は１月にブログをやる！と意気込んだもののレンタルサーバーやらwordpressの設定に途中で行き詰まり、しかも何が書きたいのかも定まっていない、そのころは言葉の壁や人生や目標や人間関係やらのストレスも溜まっていた時期で結局やらずじまいで終わっていたんです。ジョセフに「やっとか！数ヶ月待ってたよ！」と言われました。

でも今思えば機械苦手だし難しいし複雑だと勝手に思い込んでいただけで、今回もう一度チャレンジしてみたら数時間で始めることが出来ました。

カナダに来ていなかったらジョセフにも出会っていないし、ブログを始めるなんて何だか照れ臭くてやっていなかっただろうし、この美味しいジェラートも食べれていなかったんだと思うと、本当に勇気を出して新しい環境に飛び込んで良かったと心から思います。日本にいようがカナダにいようが北極にいようが全ては自分次第です。でも新しい環境に身を置く勇気は常に必要。

International romance, blogging, and gelato

That small action at the time led to significant challenges and personal growth.

To celebrate the opening of my blog today, my partner Joseph took me to a recommended gelato shop in the neighborhood.

La Casa Gelato in East Vancouver offers 238 flavors and is even registered in the Guinness World Records.
Actually, back in January, I was determined to start a blog! However, I got stuck with things like setting up a hosting server and WordPress, and I couldn’t even decide what to write about. During that time, I was also dealing with stress from language barriers, life, goals, and relationships, and in the end, I never got around to starting the blog. Joseph said, “Finally! I’ve been waiting for months!”

Looking back now, I realize that I just assumed that technology was difficult and complicated, and I wasn’t good at it. However, this time, when I gave it another try, I was able to start within a few hours.

If I hadn’t come to Canada, I wouldn’t have met Joseph, and I probably wouldn’t have started a blog because it felt embarrassing. And thinking that I wouldn’t have been able to taste this delicious gelato, I truly believe that I made the right decision to gather the courage and jump into a new environment. Whether in Japan, Canada, or even the Arctic, everything depends on oneself. But the courage to immerse oneself in a new environment is always necessary.
